Welcome to Grapevine Creations
Stained Glass Gallery
First let me give you a short lesson on stained glass: Colored glass is cut and all the pieces are arranged to form patterns or pictures for windows or sun catchers. Traditionally the pieces were held together by strips of lead and supported by stiff or ridged frames. Now most stained glass is held together by lead solder and copper foil. Many artists paint the detail on the glass.
Each piece of glass is hand cut, ground, pieced, foiled and then soldered. Stained glass is an art that requires time, tedious work and artistic skill.
Throughout history, many large windows have withstood the test of time and have remained intact since the late Middle Ages. Stained glass can not show its grandeur without the correct lighting, therefore you must hang your pieces in an area where they will have adequate light. In other words, you would not want to hang a piece on a wall unless you have sufficient lights mounted behind it.
I specialize in wildlife or nature designs but as you will see, I can do a variety of work. I am able to create many different patterns and ideas to suite your desires. Feel free to contact me and we can design a stained glass creation of your dreams.
I must give credit to my Dear friend Karen Campbell & Wapiti Dreams Stained Glass for teaching me everything I know about the art of stained glass. Karen, you are a true life treasure! Carol Ritter of Montana Art Glass has Also helped light the way.
